“50 for 50” is a celebration of the Underground Brewers of Connecticut’s 50th anniversary as a homebrew club and a recognition of the club’s contribution of the 50 point beer score sheet which became the BJCP judging standard.
NEBCo Beer!
The New England Brewing Company brewed a 50th anniversary beer to celebrate the club. Our own Caysey Welton has come up with a “Not to Style Anniversary Golden Ale” recipe which is published in an March/April Zymurgy article on the club put together by Andy Tipler and Steve Victor.
The club beer is on tap and cans are available at New England Brewing Company in Woodbridge CT while supplies last.
Merch!
We have a selection of hoodies, t-shirts, sweatshirts, performance 1/4 zip and baseball caps available with the club and “50 for 50” logo. 15% of the proceeds go towards club 50th activities.
The store link will only be available for a short time (about 1 week each time) and we will post here when the store is open. Plans are to have merch available prior to the 2024 holidays, club party, and beer release.

Zymurgy!
The March/April 2025 issue of the American Homebrewers Association’s Zymurgy magazine (AHA membership required) includes a history the Underground Brewers written by our own Andy Tipler and Steve Victor. The article also includes the recipe to Caysey’s “Not to Style” Golden Anniversary Ale.
Club Party!
We celebrating the club 50th at NewSylum Brewing in Newtown on Friday June 20th at 6 pm. We are hoping many of the “OG” club members will be able to attend. Save the date, more details to follow…
Hill Farmstead Trip!
